If you need to kick off the weekend binge-watching festivities, we’ve got just the thing. Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, and Brad Pitt star in a virtual table read of the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
The online charity event, tagged as #FastTimesLive, boasted of a powerhouse cast including Morgan Freeman, Matthew McConaughey, John Legend, Jimmy Kimmel, Shia LeBeouf, Henry Golding, and Ray Liotta.
It’s a dream cast that we’d like to see IRL post-COVID again. For now, you can enjoy this gem. Freeman provides the screen directions (duh!), while Aniston and Pitt provide the moments you’ve probably daydreamed about, while Shia LeBeouf was Shia LeBeouf, the perfect Jeff Spicoli.
Dane Cook served as the host. The virtual event is for the benefit of COVID-19 relief efforts by Sean Penn’s nonprofit organization, CORE. It is also for Reform Alliance as they provide COVID-19 protection for incarcerated people and correctional facility staff.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High is a 1982 comedy-drama film that focused on a group of high students as they deal with sex, drugs, and rock & roll. It’s based on the book by Cameron Crowe, who also wrote the screenplay. It is directed by Amy Heckling, the woman behind another cult favorite, Clueless.
