Actress Chynna Ortaleza thought she was running out of spoons, only to learn later from her musician husband Kean Cipriano that she has more than what she can use.
Ortaleza recalled the day she was frantic about the matter and later arrived at an important lesson, as seen from her Instagram post yesterday, Sept. 20.
“I remember telling Kean the other day… Shucks! I do not have enough spoons mahal (love). And he was quick to say… Mahal (Love) we have enough spoons!” she stated as she showed a photo of her set of cutlery.
She soon realized that what her husband said was true.
“Oo nga naman (Yes indeed). How many do you really need? We also do not entertain at home… if we do it’s family that comes for a visit and they are as simple as we are,” she said. “Point is we are programmed to acquire [and] acquire when in truth we can do with what we are currently blessed with.”
Ortleza’s cutlery set is an heirloom, which she inherited from her “Mama’s stocks.”
“Had them with me in our first home… still so beautiful [five] years in,” she recalled. “Trying to organize but next step is to minimize. Being gentle in this area because small steps build a better foundation.” JB
