Since she has become a “plantita,” entertainment news anchor Gretchen Fullido has been sharing with fans her experiences in planting.
Of late, Fullido is controlling herself from watering her plants because of soil conditions, as per her Instagram post on Sept. 25. Fullido posted a photo showing her with her fully-grown plants, which she wants to water but she would rather not, as a precaution.
“The struggle is real!!!” she said. “Gusto ko nanaman mag-dilig ng JULAMANS (I want to water my plants again) but I’m stopping myself because it’s been raining [and] the soil is still so moist.”
She then offered tips on when is the time to water one’s plants and how frequently it can be done.
“Since it’s been raining this whole week, I’ve been stopping myself from watering my plants. When conditions are like this and my plants don’t get as much sunlight, I adjust my watering frequency — always check if the soil is still moist before watering — we want to avoid the roots sitting on soaked soil — root rot is the enemy.” she explained.
On the same day, Fullido also showed five plants which she described as “the babies of the babies of the babies” of one of her plants.
According to Fullido, all those plants were “propagated in water” and she believes that it’s “time to share the babies with other plant lovers because sharing is caring.” JB
