Actor Robin Padilla and his wife Mariel Rodriguez have been planting vegetables in their backyard for sustenance.
Padilla expressed his satisfaction in harvesting okra and eggplant from their own garden, as seen in his Instagram post today, Sept. 28. In the clip, Rodriguez is shown cutting okra and eggplant from their garden with Padilla assisting her.
“Yehey. This is organic okra from our mini-garden. Bago pa kainin ng mga langgam na ito ay kukunin na natin,” Rodriguez said. (Before ants eat these, we will harvest them.) Rodriguez also showed a harvest of organic eggplant, though not perfect in form. She noted how it had no pesticides.
Padilla was happy although the harvest is not enough to make a full-meal dish.
“Napakasarap mag ani bagamat kakapiranggot at kulang pa sa isang putahe pero Alhamdulillah ang mahalaga ay naumpisahan at unti unti nasasaksihan ang ang circle of life,” he said.
(It is pleasing to harvest although very little and lacking for one dish, but praise be to God, what is important is that we have started planting and now slowly get to witness the circle of life.)
Padilla also expressed gratitude for his agri show on Net 25, “Unlad Kaagapay sa Hanapbuhay”, for sharing with people knowledge on how to plant. JB
