Love has many forms, and for news anchor Bernadette Sembrano-Aguinaldo, love can be expressed in various forms even during the pandemic.
Sembrano spoke about love and spirituality as she showed a Bible verse to mark the feast day of St. Therese, via her Instagram page today, Oct. 1.
“How are you at home? Have you adjusted well during quarantine ? Or are you getting all stressed out? What kind of person have you become?” she asked.
Even in the midst of the pandemic where people can be forced into isolation, Aguinaldo spoke about how love can still be expressed even in unlikely ways.
“Even in isolation, may we never forget others,” she said. “Distant is just in our minds if we show people that we care through text, a phone call, or even in the humble (but powerful ) act of praying for them. Even if it seems passive , WAITING to be with someone is loving — loving more if I may say because there is no reciprocity when you wait, but it is love that grows within you; it is not loving less but loving more!!!”
Aguinaldo also recalled how life was without the virus.
“We got everything fast before COVID but now we wait a little longer before we are able to see our loved ones. Some have been apart for months,” she stated. With distance, people have learned to be patient, she said, as she wished for people to be able to wait with joy.
Aguinaldo then extolled the virtues of St. Therese.
“Today is the Feast of the Little Flower, St. Therese who did SIMPLE THINGS out of GREAT LOVE for GOD while being CLOISTERED,” she said. “LOVE SIMPLY. LOVE GREATLY. We wait. We love.” JB
