MANILA, Philippines — The Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) organization has unveiled the “Filipina” crown, which will be worn by the pageant winner.

The MUP organization made the reveal on its Facebook page on Tuesday.

Noticeably, the crown has yellow, blue and red gems, which somehow symbolize the colors of the Philippine flag.

“These gems are emblems of dreams, ambition, happiness, pride, self-worth, and empowerment,” the MUP said.

According to the organization, the headpiece was designed by the Villarica family who owns the local Villarica Pawnshop.

“We are very grateful to them for stepping up to the challenge of creating this masterpiece,” the MUP said.

“More than their expertise on gems and jewelry, they provided us with valuable insights on the significance of precious stones and what each one represents.”

The coronation ceremonies for the Miss Universe Philippines pageant is set for Oct. 25 in Baguio City, which will be broadcast over GMA.
