Raising her firstborn child Philip and seeing him grow up fast makes actress Rica Peralejo both happy and sad, especially now that he is moving up to grade one.
“My son moved up to Grade One this year but the ceremony had to be postponed for a few months due to the pandemic. Finally, it is happening and we were asked to send in photos of our boy with his sablay, LLH pin and certificate,” the actress narrated today in her Instagram page, Oct. 22.
She said she could not help but wax sentimental as she transferred the photos she posted, from camera to phone. Peralejo feels concerned that her son may soon be spending lesser time with her as he grows up.
“How can you be grade one now and how can you be seven in three months? All the numbers are going up, yours and mine, but all that means is that there is less time,” she said. “From the moment you were born, it was always about letting you go.”
She hopes that her son would still seek her “for deeps and sillies” even when he no longer needs her. She also foresees her needing him more instead of him needing her, in the future.
“I hope you will always understand that though we never own you, we will always, always, want to be with you,” Peralejo said, echoing the sentiments of moms like her. JB
