The Sunshine Place completes this year’s Sunshine Classics online concert series with “Sentimentale,” ongoing until Nov. 15, and performances from The Muñoz String Quartet Nov. 16-30. The concerts can be enjoyed on the Sunshine Place: Senior Recreation Center’s YouTube channel.

“Sentimentale” features pianist Dingdong Fiel and flutist Nico Dioneda. The program includes the Sancan Sonatine, the Poulenc Sonata, and the Claude Bolling’s crossover Jazz Suite for Flute and Jazz Trio.

Dioneda graduated cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in Music Education, with emphasis in flute performance.

Fiel is pianist, composer, vocalist and musical director/conductor.

The Muñoz String Quartet, composed of violinists Juan Muñoz and Gian Barayuga, violinist Mhaze Lim and cellist Paul Natividad, will be performing selections from Dvorak’s American String Quartet, as well as Carlos Gardel’s Por una Cabeza and Verdi’s Brindisi from “La Traviata.” Acclaimed Chilean violinist-conductor Muñoz teaches at the Waldorf School in Laguna and in St. Scholastica’s College of Music. Barayuga is the assistant concertmaster of the Philippine International Church-Adventist University of the Philippines Orchestra and the second violin of the recently formed Muñoz String Quartet.

Daniel is the principal violist of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra and also plays viola for the Emanon String Quartet.

Natividad, with the Manila Symphony Junior Orchestra, won first place at the prestigious Summa Cum Laude festival held in Vienna, Austria.
