Despite being among the hardest hit by the pandemic, people in the food and beverage world were quick to help those who needed it, feeding the hungry and offering support to front-liners in the form of delicious meals.

After the devastating typhoons that hit the Philippines, restaurants and small food businesses are once again doing their part in bringing relief to those whose lives were upended. And guess what? You can help them help others. That’s what fans of Mum’s Lasagna did when they announced that they would be selling 50 trays of lasagna with all proceeds to be donated to victims of Typhoon “Ulysses.” The response was so overwhelming that the people behind Mum’s Lasagna kept adding more slots. They ended up selling over a hundred trays and raising P111,460 for different organizations including those helping victims in Cagayan and animal groups like Animal Kingdom Foundation and Pawssion Project.

Shake Shack’s Black Truffle Trio

This week, Shake Shack unveiled a black truffle menu consisting of three tempting items: Black Truffle Burger, Black Truffle Chick’n and Black Truffle Fries. For every item ordered off the Black Truffle Trio menu at Shake Shack Central Square, Greenbelt and SM Megamall on Nov. 16 and 17, Shake Shack Philippines will donate P100 to various relief and rebuilding efforts for communities hit by the typhoons.

One-hundred percent of The Grid Food Market’s (tel. 0917-7077459; email thegridfoodmarket@gmail.com) profits for dine-in, take-out and delivery orders from Nov. 18 will be donated to relief operations for those affected by Typhoon “Ulysses.” Participating stalls included Bad Habits, Flowerboy, Tsuke-men, Gochu-gang, Beefier, Babu, La Chinesca, Spicebird, Samyan, Granivore, Bun Appetit, Workshop, Edsa BDG, Bucky’s and Le Chon.

The Grid will also serve as a drop-off point for in-kind donations until Nov. 22. You may bring uncooked rice, bottled water, ready-to-eat food or canned goods, noodles, hygiene kits and toiletries. Here are more businesses whose efforts you can still support by ordering food:
