Actress Camille Prats has decided to teach her daughter Nala herself after she discovered that the child gets distracted during online classes.

Prats, who has been teaching Nala for 30 minutes everyday, spoke about her initial fears on the matter, as per her Instagram page on Dec. 12.

“At first [it’s a bit of a] struggle, I was scared that I might be frustrated and lose my patience with her and I certainly don’t want that to happen. So I mustered up some courage by constantly reminding myself that we can do this,” she said.

In the process, Prats observed that her daughter enjoys learning when they are having playtime moments as “she easily picked up the lessons we would tackle each day.”

“The more tawa (laughter) and hagikhik (giggles) the better,” she noted. “It also became less stressful for me coz she enjoys study time and looks forward to it.”

Prats also noticed that parents have long been struggling with the new normal’s online class set ups.

“Yung ibang mga nanay nga feeling nila sila ang naka enroll,” Prats quipped. (Some moms feel it is them who are enrolled.

But the actress encourages other moms that they can still “make learning enjoyable” for their kids, and that the current situation can be a good chance “to bond with your kids too.”

“Us parents are the first teachers of our children,” she said to fellow parents. “So to you momma and daddy, 2020 is almost over and you survived online classes and modules at home! [Give] yourself a big five.” JB
