If there is one standout thing that Maxene Magalona marvels about her husband Rob Mananquil, it is easily his thirst for learning.

Magalona expressed her admiration for her husband’s varied interests in an Instagram post on Monday, Dec. 14.

“One of the many things that I admire my husband for is his passion for learning,” she said. “His mom [Millet Martinez Mananquil] really brought him and his two sisters up with love and thirst for knowledge. She always encouraged them to study different short courses such as Spanish lessons, photography classes and yoga teacher trainings even after they’ve all graduated from college.”

Magalona explained that her husband’s constant desire to learn has influenced her about being “open to different possibilities” in life.

“I believe this is why [Rob] considers himself a student of life and chooses to see things from a curious and broad perspective. I never even knew that studying courses during adulthood was possible!” Magalona noted.

“While we have been living here in Bali, we promised ourselves to focus our time and efforts to healing ourselves and hopefully growing into better human beings as a way to help the world recover,” she said.

Magalona shared that she and her husband have gone to retreats and workshops they are interested in whenever possible, as part of their growth.

The couple is currently based in Indonesia, managing to make a living as yoga teachers after they have been stranded there earlier this year, due to international border closures and lockdowns. JB
