Having known Edward Barber since 2016 when they were both housemates during the “Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7” season, Maymay Entrata has seen the actor grow and change as a person.
Easily, one discernible discovery was his faith in God as Entrata articulated in an online conference for “Princess DayaReese” last Saturday, Dec. 19.
“Ang nadiskubre ko kay Edward since paglabas namin ng Bahay ni Kuya ay iyong faith niya kay God, lalo na ngayon. Sobrang ikinaka-proud ko iyong spiritual life niya, iyong journey niya kay God kasi natatandaan ko dati kapag sinabi niyang hindi niya gagawin talagang hindi niya gagawin. Hindi niya gagawin kapag feeling niya ay hindi niya kaya,” Entrata recalled.
(What I discovered from Edward since we left the PBB House is his faith in God. I am so proud of his spiritual life, his journey with God because I remember when he would say he will not do it, he will really not do it. He will not do it if he feels he cannot do it.)
But Barber has changed according to Entrata.
“Pero ngayon, kapag feeling niya ay hindi niya kaya pero kakayanin niya kasi alam niya God will make a way. Isa iyong sa ikinaka-proud ko kay Edward na kung saan nagli-lead sa maturity niya, kung paano niya i-handle ang mga pagsubok niya o mga problema niya,” she said.
(But now, when he feels he cannot do it, he will do it because he knows that God will make a way. That is where I am very proud of him. It has led to his maturity, how he handles challenges or his problems.)
Having been friends for four years now, Entrata was asked during the online huddle to make friendship vows to Barber.
The actress willingly obliged and said, “Kahit ano pa man, kung meron ka mang pinagdaanan, nandito lang ako para sa ‘yo. Isa ako sa mga prayer warriors mo. Pinagpe-pray kita, hindi lang ikaw kundi pati pamilya mo na maging maayos kayo palagi, lagi kayong maging malusog at lagi kang maging masaya.”
(Whatever it is, if ever you are going through something, I am here for you. I am one of your prayer warriors. I pray for you, not only for you but your family as well, that you are well always, that you are all healthy and happy.)
She also expressed her support for the actor.
“Ako, support kita kung saan ka masaya. Masaya na din ako para sa iyo bilang isang matalik na kaibigan mo. Nandito lang ako para sa iyo, sa work man ‘yan, off-cam, kahit saan pa,” she said.
(As for me, I will support you wherever you are happy. I am happy for you as your best friend. I am here for you, whether it is work, off-cam or elsewhere.)
“Princess DayaReese” will stream worldwide starting Jan. 1, 2021 on ktx.ph, iWant TFC, TFC IPTV, and pay-per-view via Cignal and SKY. Fans may already add to cart their tickets for P150 each. NVG
