LOOK: Neri Naig shares one-week meal plan with Filipino favorites

Neri Naig carefully plans her family’s everyday meals, and being the efficient celebrity mompreneur that she is, she even has a whole week meal plan.

Naig posted her list of meals for the week and shared these with fans via her Instagram page yesterday, Dec. 27.

“Sino na ang tulog? Hihi! Baka makahabol at makatulong ang weekly meal plan na ginawa ko,” she said.

(Who are asleep? [Laughs] My weekly meal plan might not be too late and could still help.)

Her daily menu is made up of breakfast, the same viand for lunch and dinner, and a snack item. Filipino favorites such as tocilog, daing, champorado, turon, pinakbet, pancit, tinapa, munggo and adobo dominate the list. The meals appear to be simple, easy to prepare, affordable and nutritious.

Since the weekly meal plan does not have an entry for Sunday, Naig explained, “Di ko na nilagyan ng Sunday kase baka mag take out na lang kami o padeliver para magpahinga. Kailangan din ng rest di ba?”

(I did not include a meal on Sunday because we might just have takeout or we might have our meals delivered to us, to be able to take a rest. We need to rest, right?)

She explained next why she listed the meals of her family for the entire week.

“Alam ko na isa sa pinakamahirap na gawin ang mag isip kung ano ang ihahain sa pamilya kaya mas madali talaga na nakasulat ang ating ihahain,” she said.

(I know that one of the hardest things to do is to think about what meals you will serve your family, which is why it is really easier to put it into writing.)

She encourages fans and followers to share their weekly meal plan and to include recipes.

“Masarap at masaya ang maging housewife,” she noted. “Mahirap of course pero fulfilling.” (It feels good and it is fun to be a housewife. It is hard of course but it is fulfilling.)

She also enjoins her followers to share their knowledge and experiences in housekeeping.

“Kaya lahat ng mga mahihilig mag ayos sa bahay at kusina, mga nakatoka sa kusina, mga nag aaral mag manage ng bahay, mga bagong kasal o ikakasal palang, tara na! Let’s help one another,” she said.

(So to those who love decorating their homes and the kitchen, to those who are assigned in the kitchen, to those studying how to manage a house, to newlyweds or those about to get married, let’s go! Let’s help one another.) JB
