To celebrate the New Year, Danica Sotto-Pingris and her family went hiking in Baguio. While at it, they got lost. Despite this, she thinks the mini adventure led her to a few valuable realizations.
Sotto talked about her family’s New Year adventure and how it has made her faith stronger, in an Instagram post on Jan. 2. She also shared photos of herself, husband and basketball player Marc Pingris, daughter Anielle Micaela and son Jean Michael.
“Went [forest] bathing and hiking yesterday. Ang sarap (It was fun) to be outdoors after a long time,” she said.
She then narrated that they got lost for 30 minutes and that the kids started to argue about directions.
“Good thing, Marc was quick to remind them to still be grateful kasi kahit daw naligaw kami (because even though we got lost), the important thing is we are together and that the Lord has given that precious time to our family,” she said. “Fortunately, we got back and made it to our lunch meeting.”
The family’s adventure reminded Pingris of at least three valuable life lessons, she said. One, to always look at the bright side. Two, that people shouldn’t just focus on problems but instead look for solutions. Lastly, that faith in God will never forsake believers.
“2020 was extremely tough and 2021 may also have its problems but with perseverance, love, and guidance from the Lord… we can be victorious,” the actress said. JB
