How Gretchen Fullido’s swimming background still helps her these days

Entertainment newscaster Gretchen Fullido, who is also a known health buff, was not feeling well over the weekend, but she insisted on doing a quick and easy run nonetheless.

Fullido spoke about why she went on to run despite having dysmenorrhea, going for 11 kilometers, as per her Instagram post yesterday, Jan. 17.

“Wasn’t feeling well today so I forced myself to do a quick [and] short run… which ended longer in mileage [and] time and the rain poured so it was extra dramatic,” she said.

While not feeling 100%, Fullido decided to still run after remembering what her former swimming coach taught her years ago.

“I was contemplating on just staying in bed to rest because I was having dysmenorrhea but I remembered when I was a swimmer [and] coach Rey didn’t allow us to have any excuses in training even if we felt like we were dying of pain or whatever because pain is temporary. Ano daw?!? (What is it?)” she recounted.

Fullido believes that the competitive swimmer side of her is still alive and kicking deep within.

“Thanks to our strict [and] rigorous swimming training since I was 6 years old as an Aqualaser in VVCC,” she said. “Thanks coach Rey [and] coach Eyoy — I am forever grateful for those very painful training sessions.”

Aside from being athletic, Fullido is also into plants and gardening, sharing with fans images of her plant collection. JB
