News anchor and weatherman Kim Atienza bade goodbye to his eldest son Jose as he leaves for the United States to continue his studies.
As his son departs for Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts, Atienza recalled the two months they bonded together through golfing, as per the broadcaster’s Instagram post today, Jan. 20.
“All good things must come to pass,” Atienza stated. “Today was the last 18 holes of 2 months of daily golfing with my favorite son @jhatienza as he heads back to @tuftsuniversity Boston tomorrow.”
Atienza cherished the bonding time he had with his son, noting that it was his privilege to “share our passion hole after hole, day after day rain or shine.”
“May you live life with the same intensity you pursue golf excellence,” he addressed his son. “As you hit your drives in life’s many tee boxes, [may] serenity be always evident regardless of a fade, a draw or an unlikely shank.”
“May Humility be in direct proportion to your yardage,” the proud dad added, citing some more golf jargon in addressing his son. “May you putt with a smile looking back in gratitude to your birdie, par or bogie. Always thankful and always in kindness and gentleness.”
“I love you dear son and am mighty proud of you. We shall golf again when you get back this coming May,” Atienza said.
Jose Atienza is a pilot and has completed his training at the Leading Edge International Aviation Academy. JB
