Iñigo Pascual’s revival of ‘All Out Of Love’ gets praise from Air Supply

Iñigo Pascual got a stamp of approval for his remake of “All Out Love” from the duo Air Supply.

Air Supply’s Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell were so impressed by Pascual’s version that they articulated their praises in an online conference today, Feb. 11, to officially launch the song.

“I love it,” Hitchcock mused. “The harmonies are amazing. Right arrangement. It’s like a perfect thing.”

“I did open by saying what a great production. ‘All Out Of Love’ is fantastic,” Russell said.

“I think it’s great. Iñigo is a young artist so he’s got his whole career in front of him and that’s really gonna be cool,” he added.

Russell was instantly impressed when he first heard Pascual’s version. He was also awed by the work of music producer Moophs (Chris Lopez, head of Tarsier Records).

“When we first heard it a couple of weeks ago in Florida, (I said) Oh, wow, it’s fabulous. You both did justice and it’s great production, great sound. And the vocal sound is tremendous, too,” he said.

Pascual was more than floored by the appreciation of the international band.

“It’s actually crazy. I was just talking to Christian (Chris Lopez) on the chat. I can’t believe that we have this remake and to have the original makers of the song be here with us, honestly, is such a crazy thing to experience and thank you guys so much for supporting us,” he said.

He was profusely grateful to Air Supply for their tremendous support of his version.

“We’re just artists, we just try to remake your song but the fact that you’ve given us so much support means a lot to me as an artist. This is an opportunity of a lifetime. We’re just very grateful for all of this,” he said.

For Hitchcock, the feeling is mutual as he finds it “flattering” that a young singer chose to remake their song.

“It’s very flattering to start with, that someone would pick our song and re-record it in this generation. I would sing that song since 1978 and it never gets tired from me,” he said.

“Well it’s great because it means that the song is transcending generations,” Russell said. “There [are] gonna be so many more, millions of people that hear it or haven’t heard it already and they aren’t that many. There’s gonna be a lot more now,” he added.

Russell feels that Pascual will bring a positive vibe with his version of the song.

“We’ve always tried to be role models for people around the world and I think Iñigo is gonna bring that same role model for a young generation. I think that’s a very positive thing that they’ve both done. I’m very proud of what they’ve done, I really am,” he said.

Originally written by Graham Russell and Clive Davis and released in 1978, “All Out Of Love” is one of their most successful songs as it landed no. 2 in the Billboard Hot 100, placed 11th at the UK Top 40 and was listed by VH1 as one of the “100 Greatest Love Songs” in 2003.

Pascual’s official launch of his Air Supply remake also coincided with the band’s promotion of its first global virtual Valentine’s concert, “Love Letters.” It has four special airings on Feb. 14 in Sydney, London, New York and Los Angeles. NVG
