In Elev8: Book of Psalms, Kasey Phoenix Casal finds self-love, spirituality, God, and strength. The book relates the poems Casal wrote as she found herself on the road to a new life.

A few years back, Casal was in a difficult situation. She left her marriage and braved the world without the usual trappings she was accustomed to. Alone, except for the children that relied solely on her, she knew that she had to find her inner strength. She sought refuge in The Philippines, home to her mother, and started to build something truly for herself.

Casal started with words. They came to her as she chose to reflect every day on one new tarot card from a deck she received during her travels. From the tarot’s images and symbols, she connected with her spirituality, integrating passages from the Bible. Casal then wrote about the lessons the cards and the passages would intimate about her current life experiences.

Thirty-three psalms comprise Elev8:Book of Psalms, all of which come from the heart and tell of the wisdom Casal gained as she weathered various inner and outer challenges. She shares the values of self-love lengthily and manifesting your true self. In these psalms, Casal also hopes to empower fellow women and remind them of their true worth.

It’s been quite a journey. Casal shared how while she was writing Elev8: Book of Psalms, she would envision the book being available in a bookstore across her. Now it’s a reality and even an international venture.
