Actress Carla Abellana is mourning the death of two dogs she previously helped revive, expressing her sorrow as she announced the passing of Bobby and Tisha, while also making an appeal to reckless and abusive pet owners.

“Despite @pawssionproject’s efforts to have them stabilized and rehydrated, as per the vet, they had parvo and they [were severely] dehydrated upon rescue,” Abellana reported in her Instagram page yesterday, Feb. 13. She shared that Tisha’s stomach had started to bloat because of severe anemia. Since Tisha was the weaker dog, she died first. Bobby died in his sleep.

Although heartbroken, Abellana has accepted the fate of the two dogs.

“We had high hopes for you, too, but God had better plans. Run free in the rainbow bridge where you will be healthy forever and where no one can ever hurt you again. We hope that in our little way, we were able to make you feel that you are not unwanted. You are loved. Sorry your humans failed you,” she said, addressing the dogs.

Abellana then made a plea to pet owners.

“Please, IF YOU CAN’T HELP ANIMALS, DON’T HURT THEM,” she said. “Getting a pet is a lifetime responsibility coupled with financial responsibility. Do not let your pet die in vain.”

She also noted that there should be a stop to the cruelty of throwing puppies and kittens away in sacks or plastic bags.

“Be a responsible pet owner and have them vaccinated. Don’t let puppies [freely] roam outside unvaccinated. Be kind to all kinds,” she stressed.

Abellana is known as an advocate of animal rights and welfare for the longest time now, helping save abandoned and abused dogs and cats. JB
