While most plant lovers tend to go for the more expensive plants, TV host Christine Bersola-Babao simply craves roses.
“While many Plantitos y Plantitas are into rare Monstera [and] other huge green [leaf] plants, I stayed loyal to my first love – ROSES,” she said today, Feb. 14 via her Instagram page, as she remembered an important detail in her wedding. “My [wedding] bouquet was a dozen Ecuadorian Roses.”
Her love for roses can be seen in her Valentine request to her husband, broadcaster Julius Babao.
“This Vday, I told my babe to stop giving me rose bouquets. [Instead, roses] of different varieties in pots – so I can always see them – fresh each morning, on our view deck,” she said.
Hubby Julius was quick to give in, as days before Valentine’s, she got her wish.
“Ang kyut ng vietnam roses (The Vietnam roses are cute)! And for Valentines, [Julius] gave me this pot of beautiful – I call it ‘Belle Rose’ [because the] deep scarlet reminds me of that lone red rose in Beauty and the Beast. Ang ganda ng pagka deep red nito (its deep red color is beautiful). It spells passion,” she noted.
“Forevah ang flowering plants compared to bouquets [that’s] why [I] prefer them now. Buhay na buhay kapag nakatanim sa lupa,” she added. (They are really alive when planted in soil.) JB
