One of the Kapamilya artists to renew her contract with ABS-CBN recently, Francine Diaz has kept her loyalty to the network despite the absence of a franchise.
Diaz shared she received offers from different networks but she opted to stay a Kapamilya, as seen in the live stream of her contract signing with Star Magic last Feb. 26.
“May mga nag-offer po pero choice ko rin po na mag-stay dito kasi para po sa akin pamilya ko na po ito,” the 17-year-old actress said when asked if she received offers from other networks.
(There were offers but it was my choice to stay here (in ABS-CBN) because for me it is my family.)
For Diaz, ABS-CBN is not just a “company or a network.”
“Hindi porke mataas ang ABS-CBN ay dito ako mag-i-stay. Nag-stay po ako dahil ito ang family ko, ito po iyong tahanan ko,” she said.
(I will not stay here just because ABS-CBN is on top. I stayed here because this is my family, this is my home.)
Diaz is set to appear next in the newest ABS-CBN teleserye “Huwag Kang Mangamba” together with the Gold Squad, which is composed of her, Andrea Brillantes, Seth Fedelin and Kyle Echarri. The group was formed after their hit series “Kadenang Ginto.”
“Nakakatuwa po kasi iyong mga makakasama naming cast ay talagang beteranong actor at aktres. Ang dami naming natutunan sa kanila na mga bagong acting skills,” she stated.
(I’m happy because we will be with a cast of veteran actors and actresses. We learn so many things from them like new acting skills.)
Diaz said she’s open to portraying different roles for as long as it is in her age range.
“Ako po open naman ako sa mga bagong characters. Kung malayo man siya kay Cassy, basta po nasa edad ko pa rin po, hindi masyadong mature. Ready po ako sa mga ganoon. Sobrang open po ako kasi gusto ko iyong may challenge minsan at nakakapag-explore po ako bilang artista,” she said.
(I am open to portray new characters. If it is far from Cassy, it should be in my age range and it should not be so mature. I am ready for that. I am open because I want to take on a challenge sometimes and I want to explore (myself) as an actress.)
Diaz started appearing in teleseryes like “Be My Lady,” “We Will Survive,” “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin” and “The Blood Sisters” before getting her landmark role in “Kadenang Ginto” as Cassy. NVG
