The goal of the NBA is to at least finish this season with a champion

It’s been almost three weeks since the NBA suspended its season due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since then, numerous games including the playoffs have been postponed until further notice. Although news about the coronavirus remains discouraging, the NBA is still determined to complete the 2019-2020 season.
According to New York Post writer Marc Berman, the league is exploring different options to make sure the rest of the season pushes through. One option NBA executives is exploring is a one-site destination for the playoffs and to resume the shortened regular season. According to Berman, the NBA’s goal is to at least let teams reach 70 games in the regular season since some have already played between 64 and 67 games.
The ideal venue for the NBA to conduct its one-site games is in Las Vegas, which has been a frequent destination for its summer league. Other destinations being considered are the Bahamas, Orlando, Atlantic City, Hawaii and Louisville.
ESPN senior reporter Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the NBA is looking to return by late June or early July. If this happens, the NBA calendar will definitely be pushed back especially events like the NBA draft, off-season and the start of the 2020-2021 regular season. While there’s still a lot to be discussed, the goal of the NBA is to at least finish this season with a champion.
