Patrick Dempsey’s passion for motorsports makes him the ideal face of PorscheDesign

Patrick Dempsey is not new to the world of sportscars and motor racing. His first sportscar was a classic Porsche 356 he’s had during his early 20s. Popularly known for his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd in Grey’s Anatomy, he is the next generation of Hollywood actors who followed the footsteps of legends like Steve McQueen and Paul Newman who went into serious motor racing. He was a very focused racecar driver and raced in pro-am races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Rolex 24 at Daytona and Baja 1000 off-road races. He is a co-owner of a Porsche customer racing team and had a long-standing relationship with Porsche.  In 2015, he raced in the FIA World Endurance Championship in his Dempsey Racing-Proton Team in a Porsche 997 GT3 RSR. He also owns a variety of classic and current model Porsches.
