WATCH: Gretchen Ho’s bike project reaches out to rollerblade delivery guy

It looks like TV host Gretchen Ho may have revived her “Donate A Bike, Save A Job” project when she recently gave a barangay tanod a free bicycle and groceries.

Ho spoke about the tanod Ronie Conocido from Quiapo, Manila who received the bike and assistance as shown in her Instagram account today, April 12.

“On his off-days, he works as a self-made delivery boy on his rollerblades,” Ho noted.

By showing people his “roller moves” via Facebook, Conocido is able to attract more customers who request more deliveries.

“He delivers anything [and] everything – from electric fans, to face shields, to food, you name it,” Ho said.

The enterprising barangay tanod, Ho noted, “had to work extra hard this pandemic to be able to provide milk for his babies and food for his family of [four].”

“Pinuntahan namin si Ronie [para] bigyan ng bisekleta through @DonateABikeSaveAJob. Pero alam niyo kung saan siya naiyak? Naiyak siya noong makita niya yung dala namin na groceries at gatas,” Ho shared.

(We went to Ronie to give him his bike through “Donate a Bike, Save A Job.” But do you know where he cried? He cried upon seeing the groceries and milk that we brought.)

Conocido makes deliveries around the areas of Tayuman, Sampaloc, Tondo and Blumentritt in Manila.

Meanwhile, Ho started her advocacy last year to help those in need of assistance on mobility, so they may still be able to go to their workplaces in the absence of sufficient and reliable public transport amid the pandemic. JB
