Carlos Yulo and Margielyn Didal brought pride to the country once again

SEA Games 2019 gold medalists Carlos Yulo and Margielyn Didal were among the five Filipinos who made it to this year’s Forbes “30 under 30 Asia Class of 2020” list. Both athletes were recognized for their brilliance in Philippine sports.
According to Forbes’ “30 under 30” editor Rana Wehbe, the list is composed of leaders who inspire optimism and those equipped to adapt to whatever challenges come in the future.
“They are a resilient and energetic bunch who are facing challenges head on and actively working for a future that matches their aspirations,” says Wehbe.
True enough, both Yulo and Didal are considered the future of Philippine sports. Yulo, who bagged two gold medals and five silver medals at the 2019 SEA Games, was also set to represent the Philippines in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The 20-year-old was also the first male athlete in Southeast Asia to win a gold medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
Meanwhile, Didal was recognized for her stint at the 2018 Asian Games where she claimed four gold medals for the Philippines. The 20-year-old also notched two gold medals in the 2019 SEA Games for both skateboarding and streetboarding.
Just last month, Didal won bronze at the first women’s skateboard tournament of the Tampa Pro Competition in Florida. Prior to the postponement of the 2020 Olympics, Didal was looking to qualify in the first ever Olympics skateboard competition.
