Actress-philanthropist Angel Locsin is urging the public to go out and register to qualify to vote for the 2022 national elections. Locsin made her plea via her Instagram page on June 13, just after Independence Day.

“[It] is time we break free from the circumstance of chance and take full charge of changing the course of our fate,” she said, as she posted a portrait from a photo shoot with Mega magazine.

As the national elections draw nearer, Locsin is raising awareness that it is everyone’s duty to vote, as “we are no longer just standing by the sidelines, because we know much better: our choice matters.”

“A better Philippines is what we, as Filipinos, want and deserve,” Locsin stated. “A Philippines that stands for and with our people; a Philippines that does not discriminate or hate. Now is the time that we fight for what we deserve.”

Locsin believes that as “stakeholders of this great nation, we are committed to forge the path to a stronger democracy, accountable governance, and a renewed Philippines.”

She pleads to the public to register and vote so they can claim the “power to appoint equitable officials… before September 30, 2021,” the said date being the deadline for registration.

Locsin is set to marry her boyfriend Neil Arce this year. JB
