Iñigo Pascual makes his most personal album

Young singer Iñigo Pascual considers his latest album, “Options,” his most personal album so far. He shared how he painstakingly went through a lot in finishing it.

“I mean, para sa akin (for me), there are some songs in the album that I personally wrote as well. May mga pinagdaanan ako (I was going through something) and I was able to write those songs,” he said during the online press conference for his album’s launch last Tuesday, June 22.

With so many things that transpired during the making of the album, Pascual is reminded of a certain time in his life.

“I mean, coming from my first album ‘Dahil Sa ‘Yo,’ I was so nervous working on another album,” he said. “I was nervous with the thought of even releasing music because I didn’t know what to come up with.”

Pascual thinks he was still exploring his sound in his first album, while finally getting to know his real sound in his latest work. He also feels he has matured as a singer. Now, he is training for dance as he wants to improve his overall performance.

“Just a couple of months ago, I started training for my dance and for my performing para lang mas mahasa lang ako (so I will be more honed). It definitely changed my perspective on a lot of things, not just in performing but in my lifestyle, kasi grabe ang mga bata ngayon, sobra silang talented (because the young performers now are great, they’re so talented). It’s hard to keep up with the times with these kids coming out of nowhere and so talented,” he said.

“Options” tackles the concept of self-discovery and navigating a young man’s world of infinite options, which is fully exhibited in Inigo’s exploration of his best possible sound, through the album’s dance pop, island pop, dancehall, R&B, reggae, and acoustic tracks. The album is produced by ABS-CBN Music’s Tarsier Records. Its carrier single, “Neverland,” was produced by global hit producer Bernard “HARV” Harvey.

Inigo’s previously released singles included in the “Options” album are the title track “Options,” “Danger” with Common Kings and DJ Flict, “Should Be Me,” and his collaborations with Tarsier Records’ label head Moophs, “Lost,” “Catching Feelings,” “Always,” and the stripped down version of “OMW.” JB
