Actor Kit Thompson considers being acknowledged best actor as truly rewarding.
He won the said honor in the recent 54th WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival (Panorama Asia category) for his performance in the film “Belle Douleur,” where he plays a guy who fell in love with a mature woman played by Mylene Dizon.
“So totoo lang, hindi ko siya in-expect (To be honest, I did not expect it),” he said during the online press conference for the returning teleserye “La Vida Lena,” last June 16. “I was very happy.”
As an actor, he acknowledged that getting recognized for something you already love doing is extra fulfilling and to be recognized in your field is an even bigger honor.
“Iba yung panalo ka ng award kaysa sumikat ka or something or maging trending ka, you know. It’s a different feeling,” he said. (It’s different when you win an award, compared with just being popular or go trending, you know.)
He was also asked about future projects and what viewers can expect more from him.
“As of now, there’s a lot of plans but in don’t know when it will start. But hopefully soon I’d start on something. It would be very good,” he said.
Thompson plays Miguel Villarica in “La Vida Lena” which premiered in November last year and will resume airing tonight at 10 p.m. on the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z Channel 11, TV5, iWantTFC and TFC. JB
