What to eat, do and buy in Boracay now

A list for your return to the favorite beach paradise

  • Drink Frosé at Prisma. It’s a rosé and fresh watermelon juice slushy—so good. And we imagine that it’s even better when you drink it at the pool bar. (Even if you’re not staying at Hue Hotels and Resorts Boracay, you can go for the Dip and Dine experience for just P599.)
  • Go for paella at Dos Mestizos (it has a new location at Station 1) and wash it down with sangria.
  • Explore Western Visayas with your tastebuds at La-ud (or laot). Love the sinuglaw, gambas, binakol and chicken inasal.

  • You must have Coco Mama. Digging into this coconut ice cream concoction served in a fresh coconut is a Boracay experience that shouldn’t be missed.

  • Drink Little Wave’s Death Cream. This popular coffee drink is made with espresso using coffee beans from Edsa BDG and cold creamy custard. We’re still dreaming about it. And while you’re at Little Wave, have the Creamed Shimeji and Eggs, too. And the Maple Bacon Sandwich! You can’t miss that.

  • Channel Elizabeth Harmon and play giant chess at Station X. Don’t know how to play chess? You can go for a game of giant tic-tac-toe instead. Or just chill in the hammock-like lounger.
  • Have Beef Brisket Eggs Benedict at Nonie’s. What a beautiful way to start the day. “We’re also known for being vegan-friendly and so if you are a vegan, you should try the tempeh kare-kare. That’s super good,” said Shria Florencio, who runs Nonie’s and Little Taj with her husband Patrick.
  • Miss getting a massage? Book a treatment at Mandala Spa.

  • The Sunny Side Cafe is open again! Celebrate with pancakes, champorado, chorizo and eggs, and our favorite roesti.
  • Bring a little cheer back from the island for your loved ones with Filipino finds at Local Color. We love the graphic postcards, crocheted plushies.
