Celebrity mom and vlogger Rica Peralejo was never much into appreciating herself nor adhered to concepts of self love. But that has since changed after she discovered her true value, through her faith.
“Me after I put on some lip and cheek tint this morning,” she said in her Instagram page today, showing herself looking abloom in her blue pajamas after having applied a little makeup, in a series of photos.
As one who “never liked the terms self-care and self-love because they felt so self-serving,” Peralejo explained that she used to feel anxious about making things appear all about herself, because she did not want to be selfish.
“But as in anything, too much of something is dangerous,” she stressed, and that includes “selflessness.”
Peralejo got reduced into believing that her existence is not necessary.
“It was only this year that I began appreciating myself again. Only this year when I remembered I have value since God chose to make me at all,” she said. She then spoke up about how self love can actually be a form of faith.
“To believe that God was not wrong in making me, in keeping me around, that there must be value for Someone as Amazing as the Creator of the Universe to wonderfully, fearfully, fashion me to be,” she said.
“So if you suffer from thinking today that you might not be necessary, that there is no difference in you being around or not, put on a little something on your face, look good, feel good,” Peralejo added. “[And] remember that [every time] God made something, He stepped back and always saw something good. Something good is in you.”
Peralejo joined YouTube in 2014 and has since been vlogging in the platform under her channel, Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio, sharing testimonials and parenting experiences as a Christian. JB
