Not all hope is lost for actress and yoga instructor Maxene Magalona, who believes that there is a light waiting for us after these dark times.

Magalona championed positivity in an Instagram post yesterday, Aug. 3, where she quoted pastor Eugene Cho: “Be humble. The world is bigger than your view of the world. And certainly, God is much bigger than your view of God.”

Cho is an American evangelical pastor who became the third President and CEO of the Christian advocacy group Bread for the World in July 2020.

“This pandemic has truly been such a humbling and challenging situation that none of us ever expected to find ourselves in. It came as a total shock that no one was prepared for so I really believe that these past couple of years have been very difficult and traumatizing for a lot of us all over the world,” she said.

Despite this “bad” and “depressing time,” however, Magalona has chosen to rise above the challenge and take on a positive look at life.

“I choose to see the ‘good’ in my current situation which are the lessons that I learn, the memories that I make and the experiences that I will forever cherish in my heart. I choose to invest my time wisely and recharge my energy by practicing gratitude especially during the dark times as these are when I need to shine my light the most,” she said.

As the pandemic is “crazy, confusing and chaotic,” Magalona thinks that the best thing to do is to “find our center, our balance, and connect to our true essence of being which is our Divine Energy that came from God.”

Magalona believes that stirring once spirituality will me us feel “God’s Divine presence in our hearts and souls.”

“We will be grounded in His love and the world will be a better and brighter place. Nothing will be able to shake us. Learn to take care of your inner world and your outer world will follow,” she said.

The yoga instructor is also “grateful for this time of inward reflection, compassionate self-inquiry and union with the Divine, noting that she’s “nurturing my light and nourishing my soul.”

Now, she is taking care more of herself albeit not doing it before as she believed then that she did not deserve to be loved and cared for.

Magalona is asking her IG friends and followers to join her and @_annafries on Aug. 8 at 8 p.m., Manila/Bali time on Instagram Live as they talk about “online offering @thesoulspaceph and why [they] felt the urge to create a soothing and nourishing space for those who might need some comfort during these times of uncertainty.” IB
