Tribute song marks Ninoy’s 38th death anniversary

The internationally acclaimed Philippine Madrigal Singers (Madz), with Mark Anthony Carpio as choirmaster, will commemorate Ninoy Aquino Day Aug. 21 with a tribute song for the nation’s hero, titled “Pangarap ng Bayan.”

The music video specially created for the occasion will be posted online for the 38th death anniversary of Aquino. The song’s lyrics are by poet/writer Gil Yuzon and music by composer/arranger Noel Espenida.

The production is sponsored by the advocacy group, Kilusang Pamana (Legacy Movement), whose objective is to pay tribute to and keep alive the patriotic and civic legacies of outstanding Filipinos, past and present. This first undertaking honors the respective legacies of Aquino, his wife, former President Cory, and their son former President Benigno “Noynoy” III, who have significantly impacted the lives of Filipinos of this generation.

The tribute video is produced by Aurora Oreta and Yuzon, with the team of Jeremy Carlos, director; Richwell Espenida, mixing and mastering; and Celine Perpiñan, project coordinator. Victoria Benoit is the communications consultant.

The video may be accessed beginning Aug. 19 on YouTube, search “Pangarap ng Bayan song by Gil Yuzon/Noel Espenida” or tinyurl.com/KilusangPamana; #NinoyAko on Facebook and Instagram.
