Ayala Malls’ Zing App takes the malling experience online

Miss malling? Us, too. Ask any Filipino which mall they most feel “at home” in and they will have a definite answer—that’s because malls have served as extensions to Filipinos’ private residences: in malls, we dine in restaurants we know and trust as much as our own kitchens, we return to boutiques whose clerks know us by name and need, and we run to stores for just about any problem that needs a solution.

Unfortunately, this experience of kinship with our local mall has been hugely affected by the pandemic. With community quarantine restrictions that change just about every month, as well as the lingering consciousness for social distancing, Ayala Malls felt the need to provide Filipinos with an alternative way to extend the malling experience online.

Zing Rewards

Enter Zing, Ayala Mall’s mobile app and customer convenience and rewards platform that allows mallgoers to shop and dine from their trusted brands at home. Zing was introduced in 2019 to help mallgoers elevate their Ayala Malls experience by having a central directory for boutiques, a unified newsroom for mall activities, announcements and promotions, as well as a rewards program for loyal Ayala Mall patrons. But with the pandemic overstaying its welcome, this 2021, Zing listened to the needs of its customers—now, mallgoers can also shop their trusted Ayala Malls stores via the app’s ZingShops feature, and order from their most-loved Ayala Malls restaurants via ZingEats.

Miss dropping by your favorite store in Ayala Malls? It might just be on ZingShops. Shoppers can shop straight from their favorite Ayala Malls brands in the following categories: Fashion, Sports Active, Beauty & Health, Gadgets & Appliances, Specialty and Pinoy Artisano.

On the fashion front, U.P. Town Center’s well-loved T-shirt brand Linya Linya is on ZingShops, such as Ayala Mall staples such as Res Toe Run and Payless ShoeSource. The sports enthusiast can shop from their favorite athletic stores such as The North Face, Nike and Bonifacio High Street go-to R.O.X. Iconic Rustan’s beauty brands such as NARS, Shiseido and Laura Mercier can be accessed with a click, and even specialty favorites such as MUMUSO are on ZingShops as well.

What’s great about ZingShops is that the platform includes local online brands such as SORA, Bayani Brew and Annie & Lori, as well as brands that support social causes such as The Bamboo Company, Andante and MCV Designs, located in the Pinoy Artisano category.

Meanwhile, ZingEats offers the range of culinary options easily accessible to mallgoers in the physical mall setting, with an aggregated page that spoils them with choices in the comfort of their home. For families who spent years frequenting classic Greenbelt staples such as Chili’s, and Itallianni’s, those restaurants are ready and available via ZingEats. Those who miss the breezy ambiance of Nanbantei of Tokyo’s Bonifacio High Street Central branch can still order their favorite yakitori via the app. To top it off, ZingEats has even made everyone’s favorite food market available online: Mercato Centrale’s online ordering portal is readily accessible via ZingEats, to serve customers the grilled fare, rice meals and hearty Western fare they visit Mercato for.

Satisfy cravings by choosing your next meal via Z!ngEats, Ayala Malls’ newest food ordering platform featuring multiple outlets and cuisines.

While other food ordering and shopping apps offer a streamlined collection of choices that appear from the initial item search, Zing does the online experience differently, but in the way Ayala Malls know best: the Zing app patterns its user experience closely to the physical experience of mall shopping and dining, where from the central app, users can directly access the official e-commerce sites of the brands and restaurants they know and trust.

Z!ngShops feature categories ranging from Fashion, Sports Active, Beauty & Health, Specialty, Gadgets & Appliances, and Pinoy Artisano.

The experience then becomes similar to a physical Ayala Malls visit: navigating Zing is like walking through central mall spaces in search of a window that piques your interest, and once you decide to enter a specific boutique—via ZingShops, by clicking an icon that leads to their official sites—your store experience and service becomes unique to that one particular brand. Same goes for restaurants: while each restaurant in physical malls have their own menus and a distinct manner of service, it’s the same for restaurants you can access through Zing—from the ZingEats directory, you are led to their official online ordering systems where they serve, customize and deliver your favorite food in the way they know best.

Like a whole day spent in your favorite Ayala Mall, it’s the variety of shopping experiences centralized within the Zing app that makes online shopping or dining unique and enjoyable. Like Ayala Malls, the shopping experience then becomes less transactional and more leisure-like, where online customers can freely browse, hop in and hop out of one store or restaurant until they find one they’d like to eat in or purchase.

True to the Ayala Mall experience, Zing is the extension of the physical mall-going experience we know and love—a handy app that hopefully comforts and services us as we wait to freely and safely roam our beloved malls once again.
