Kuh Ledesma avoids using negative words like ‘wala,’ and here’s why

Veteran songstress and Christian artist Kuh Ledesma believes that one has to stay positive even as the pandemic continues to wreak havoc on our lives.

Ledesma spoke about keeping the faith in her Instagram page today, Sept. 9, where she shared a short inspirational video of herself narrating an anecdote from her household.

“What Proverbs 18:21 said, ‘Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit,’” she said in the video.

With that, she encouraged everyone to have a positive outlook on things, and proceeded to share an exchange she had with their house helper.

“Kapag sinasabi ng katulong namin, ‘Ma’am wala na tayong bigas.’ Hindi na ako gumagamit ng wala word, eh. Ang sinasabi ko, ‘Hindi, ganito ang sasabihin mo, ‘Ma’am, kailangan na nating bumili ng bigas,’” she said.

(Whenever our helper says, “Ma’am, we don’t have rice anymore,” I do not use the word “none/nothing” anymore. What I tell her is, “No, this is what you should say, ‘Ma’am, we already need to buy rice.'”)

Ledesma also shared several Bible verses it stress her point about positivity. She shared Philippians 4:13 (“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”); Hebrews 13:6 (“So we can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?'”); and Nahum 1:7 (“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.”).
