Actress Vina Morales was not comfortable during her first lock-in taping specifically because the experience gave her worries about her daughter.
“Kasi siyempre I am a single mom and bata pa ‘yung anak ko, she’s only twelve years old,” Morales said during the online press conference for the teleserye “Marry Me, Marry You” on Sept. 2. (Because of course, I am a single mom and my daughter is still very young, she’s only twelve years old.)
The actress plays Marvi Jacinto, one of the godmothers of Janine Gutierrez’s character in the series which will start airing today, Sept. 13, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z and TV5. Viewers outside the Philippines can catch it on The Filipino Channel and IPTV.
Morales, luckily, has her family whom she can rely on to leave her daughter to under these conditions.
“‘Dahil single mom ako, naiiwan ko ang anak ko sa pamilya ko. Kampante ako ngayon na okay ang anak ko and thankful ako,” she said. (Because I’m a single mom, I leave my child to my family. It gives me an assurance that she is OK and I am thankful for that.)
During the lock-in taping, Morales was able to observe her cast mates more closely, and from the new actors, she saw all the more how they behave during the shoots.
“Makikita mo ‘yung eagerness nila (You will see their eagerness) to learn and that’s what I appreciate about them,’ she said.
Morales was also amused at the latest trends on social media that her young co-stars do.
“Ako, na-convince na nila so ako nagti-TikTok na ako,” she revealed. (As for me, they were able to convince me so I am also in TikTok now.) Morales is convincing fellow stars Sunshine Dizon, Cherry Pie Picache and Teresa Loyzaga to do TikTok as well. JB
