Newest Kapamilya actress Lovi Poe wants to work with the best of ABS-CBN. This, she said, is the reason why she made the big switch and moved to the rival network of her former home network GMA.
But she remains grateful for her years in GMA, where she also worked with its biggest stars.
“Of course, I am very, very much grateful. I am blessed to have worked with the best of the best of GMA, best of the best creatives and best set of actors,” she said during the online press conference on Sept. 16, to mark her entry to ABS-CBN.
“I just feel like it’s time to work with the best of the best of ABS-CBN and I’m just looking forward to working with such amazing actors, amazing directors, everyone. More importantly, making new friends here. I think that’s the biggest factor,” she added.
As a new Kapamilya, Poe was asked about her goals and expectations.
“More than anything, I guess my main goal is to just be myself, do what I usually do which is do my best when it comes to work,” she answered. “I really don’t expect anything. I am just really looking forward to all the amazing things that are about to happen.”
Walking on the red carpet to officially mark her entry as the latest Kapamilya star was a surreal experience for the actress.
“Siguro hindi siya nagsi-sink in agad (Maybe it didn’t sink in immediately), like the moment when I got out of the car, nakita ko si (I saw) Ms. Cory [Vidanes], sir Deo ([Endrinal] and sir Carlo [Katigbak]. I felt like it wasn’t real. It felt [like] such a dream,” she said of the way she was welcomed. “I can’t even explain it.”
“The moment I walked in I just really felt the love. You know, how I felt nervous at the beginning, I suddenly felt at home,” Poe added.
For her first project with the Kapamilya network, Poe will do the Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean drama series “Flower of Evil” with Piolo Pascual.
Poe is set to make her first Hollywood film, “The Chelsea Cowboy,” about actor-gangster John Bindon. In the film she will play the singer Dana Gillespie who hired Bindon as part of her security. JB
