Since the pandemic hit, a lot of questions surfaced regarding the future of fashion rental. But there is one question which stands out, is it safe to rent clothes?
Jaimee Padua, who rented her wedding reception dress recently, said that she was not at all worried about the coronavirus when she picked out her dress.
“It would’ve been more scary to go out and interact with more people,” she added.
The now missus safely tried on two gowns for her wedding from the comfort of her home and picked a pink silk satin set from the two.
But when renting clothes, Cit Sioson said it’s important to find a dress from a reputable place.
“Rent only from a credible source, so you’re sure to get the best style advice and quality pieces that are maintained well and properly cleaned,” she said.
Cindy Go, one of the principals of fashion rental Vestido Manila, said the process of leasing clothes from their wardrobe follows strict sanitation protocols, from fittings to dry cleaning.
She added that their clients are at ease, especially because the pieces are professionally dry-cleaned and maintained before and after every rental. The clothes are also steamed and pressed before they are delivered to the client.
“Rigorous cleaning process and quarantine measures are also in place at the showroom where all our pieces are safely stored. Our studio fittings are strictly by appointment only,” Go explained.
The strict appointment schedule is done to avoid crowding at Vestido’s Mandaluyong studio.
