Philippine Queen of Talk Kris Aquino honored her parents Cory and Ninoy Aquino on their 67th wedding anniversary and recalled how they were exemplary as a couple.
Kris made the tribute on her Instagram page today, Oct. 11, where she showed a bouquet of flowers.
“67 years ago today my mom and dad got married and really proved to us, their children, that they meant every word of their wedding vows: to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part,” she said.
Kris also honored her sisters Ballsy Aquino-Cruz, Victoria Elisa Aquino-Dee and Pinky Aquino-Abellada, all of them, being like her mom and dad, are happily married.
“All my sisters have had solid, happy marriages for more than 30 years: Ate will celebrate her 38th wedding anniversary this December, Pinky will have her 36th wedding anniversary this February, and Viel will be married for 32 years this May, 2022,” she shared.
“Pag inisip ko (When I think about it) because my dad was assassinated when he was only 50 years old, even though my parents married when they were both just 21, [but dad died] August 21- hindi nga nila inabot ang kanilang (they did not reach their) 29th wedding anniversary,” Kris recalled.
She then shared what her mom told her about bringing the best out of each other in a relationship and thanked her parents for their wisdom. She also prayed that they give her regards to her brother, the late President Benigno Aquino III.
“Happy Anniversary in heaven mom & dad. Nobody can come close to your wisdom. The [four] of us I’m sure know we hit the DNA jackpot because God blessed us [with] the privilege of being your daughters. Please tell our favorite brother not a day passes that we don’t think about [and] miss him but we know maswerte sya kasi kasama nyo na sya (he’s lucky that he is already with you),” she said. JB
