As more and more establishments become pet-friendly, showbiz news anchor Gretchen Fullido is still hoping for animal lovers to become more responsible pet owners.
Fullido spoke about caring for pets and the many benefits they bring to people’s lives, as per her Instagram post yesterday, Oct. 10, where she showed a photo of herself and her dog Simba while they were out on errands in a mall.
“Really happy that we have pet friendly malls. Hoping that we have more pet friendly establishments in the Philippines like in other countries,” she said.
“But let’s also remember to be responsible pet owners — cleaning up after our dogs (especially when we bring them out with us) and making sure that they are in good health [and] complete with their vaccines [and] rabies shots.”

Fullido enumerated the many benefits that a pet owner can enjoy according to studies, such as reducing stress and loneliness, encouraging exercise and playfulness, and the improvement of one’s cardiovascular health.
“Caring for an animal can help children grow up more secure and active. Pets also provide valuable companionship for older adults,” she said. “Perhaps most importantly, though, a pet can add real joy and unconditional love to your life.”
Aside from being an animal lover, Fullido is known to be a plantita and environment advocate. JB
