Keifer Sanchez wishes to collaborate with Ariana Grande

Keifer Sanchez, one of the TNT Boys, dreams of collaborating with his idol, American singer Ariana Grande, whose vocal style he very much admires.

“Naggagandahan ako sa boses niya. ‘Yung style niya po nagugustuhan ko kaya parang nai-influence niya ako at parang inspired ‘yung style ko sa kanya,” Sanchez said in a press conference yesterday, Oct. 23, after signing up with his new management, MAK Entertainment Services.

(I find her voice beautiful. I like her style so I am influenced by her, and my style is somewhat inspired by her.)

Sanchez, together with fellow TNT Boys, Mackie Empuerto and Francis Concepcion, got the surprise of their young lives when Grande appeared while they were performing at the “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in 2019.

(I couldn’t believe that it really was Ariana Grande who was next to us. But when she sang, that’s when I believed that it was indeed Ariana.)

Also in his bucket list is to meet another idol, Bruno Mars, and a collaboration with Morissette Amon and Erik Santos.

Meanwhile, now that he’s entered puberty, Sanchez admits there’s difficulty in reaching the high notes. This transition period in his vocals has certainly made him do some adjustments.

(I’m having a hard time as my voice transitions. I cannot reach the high notes anymore. What I do is I sing songs of the Apo Hiking Society, Boyz II Men, Bruno Mars, songs in low ranges to prevent my voice from being damaged.)

During the pandemic, Sanchez also did some covers to practice his voice.

(I was sad because we don’t have gigs, because of the pandemic. But I stay on the positive side. We will have gigs someday.)
