MANILA, Philippines — Mexico’s Andrea Paola Martinez Bazarte made it two triumphs in a row for her nation when she was crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2021, duplicating the feat of compatriot and 2019 titleholder Regina Peredo Gutierrez.

No pageant was held last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Twenty-six delegates  competed in the global tilt’s 30th edition, staged in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra in Bolivia on Oct. 30 (Oct. 31 in Manila).

The Philippines’ Emmanuelle Vera, who just earned the Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas title on Oct. 5, finished as “tercera finalista” or third runner-up in the international competition.

She finished higher then predecessor Katrina Llegado, who was proclaimed “quinta finalista” or fifth runner-up in 2019.

Completing the winners’ circle are Vireina (vice-queen) Ana Lucia Tejeira from Panama, primera finalista Maria Alejandra Vengoechera Carcoma from Colombia, segunda finalista Maria Andrea Romero Morelo from Venezuela, cuarta finalista Bruna Custodio Zanardo from Brazil, and quinta finalista Theresa Lila Matos Agonia from Portugal.

The Reina Hispanoamericana pageant aims to promote awareness of Hispanic heritage around the world.

Actress Teresita Ssen “Winwyn” Marquez was crowned 2017 titleholder in 2017. She is the Philippines’ first ever delegate to the global tilt.
