RLC Residences and Humble Sustainability team up to ‘Minimize Waste, Maximize Space’

One of the many trends that people have enjoyed and at the same time dreaded during the pandemic is decluttering. Most of us continue to accumulate more things as online shopping grows more and more popular, turning our homes into a cramped space.

This dilemma actively plays a factor as the Philippines is regarded as the world’s third-largest contributor to ocean plastic, contributing to over 1/3 of the world’s ocean plastic waste. Every year, more than 460 rivers in the country emit 356,371 metric tons of mismanaged plastic wastes. In 2037, 16 years from now, three main landfills will become unusable. In 2025, the trash generated in the country will increase by 165 percent.

RLC Residences, together with Humble Sustainability, encourage homeowners to declutter responsibly as they birthed their “Minimize Waste, Maximize Space” passion program to pioneer circular living in the country’s residential industry.

RLC Residences is one with Humble Sustainability in their advocacy on zero-waste circular living – which loses the cycle of taking raw materials and replaces it with renewable and non-renewable resources. A circular economy involves leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing, and recycling existing materials and products as long as possible, therefore extending the life cycle of products. Through this initiative, the RLC Sustainability Strategy raises the bar in protecting the environment with the circular economy project. By raising awareness, not only will it solidify RLC’s commitment to sustainability, it will also inspire condo residents to live smart and productively.

The process is simple: Condo dwellers of RLC Residences only need to gather pre-loved items — usable or not usable, broken or incomplete — and book a collection or pick-up schedule. Humble will collect, recycle, or upcycle your pre-loved items and give them a second life, with the help of their sustainability partners. Anything homeowners don’t find useful anymore, from clothes, shoes, books, broken appliances, and furniture – you name it, will be accepted regardless of its size and value across drop off areas in The Sapphire Bloc, East of Galleria, The Pearl Place, and Galleria Regency. Soon, more RLC Residences developments will also be given a chance to clean up their home spaces in an eco-friendly way.
