For the longest time, when she was younger, actress and yoga teacher Maxene Magalona thought that she could not want and have the things she really desired in life. Only later did she realize that there are actually no limits to her achieving these things, except the limits she imposes on herself.
“I used to think that I wasn’t allowed to have dreams,” Magalone said in her Instagram page yesterday, Nov. 6. “I was discouraged to want what I truly wanted. I was made to believe that princesses and fairy tales were nothing but a representation of lies and false hope. I was conditioned to think that I couldn’t ask for more or even have any desires and that I should just be grateful for what I already have.”
“While gratitude has always been one of my personal core values, I was surprised when I found out that I was actually allowed to ask the Universe for what I truly want in life. Now that I’m an adult, I realized that I actually have the right to dream as big as I want to and work towards granting all of my heart’s desires,” she explained.
Magalona believes that for as long as she is striving to be a better human being for the benefit of all beings, she can pray and ask for all her hopes and wishes to come true.
As a grown up as well, she has learned how to protect her energy and set healthy boundaries for herself, by saying no to anything that disturbs her inner peace.
“If there is anything or anyone that tries to get in between me and my dreams, I will always choose myself — even if it means having to burn bridges along the way,” she added. “Setting healthy boundaries isn’t an act of selfishness. It is a sacred act of radical self-love.”
Aside from being busy with her yoga discipline, Magalona has been cast in the Kapamilya series “Viral Scandal” with Charlie Dizon, Jake Cuenca and Dimples Romana. JB
