Robinsons Land’s ARTablado stages group show together with art groups to support CCV

Robinsons Land’s ARTablado hosts anew a group all female artists who will showcase over 40 artworks this November. Their paintings will be displayed in ARTablado which is located at the 3rd floor of Robinsons Galleria.

The painting exhibit dubbed as “ART♀titude” was created out of the intention of showcasing the artistic talents, with matching attitude, of a group of talented aspiring female artists. The show seeks to capture these women’s thoughts, emotions, dreams, opinions on canvas, with subjects ranging from landscapes and still life, to faces and figures.

The artists who will be taking part are either from various groups, or women, young and young- at-heart who are past or current students of the Creative Hands Workshop. Participating groups are International Artists, artists who have done exhibits abroad and are known locally and in the international art circles.  Joining the group show are members of the Sabado Group-– weekend art-for-therapy artists who are mostly retired or at-home housewives and/or businesswomen and friends and the Art Wednesday Group whose members are doctors and friends from the Makait Medical Center.  This group usually takes  ‘art breaks’  every week and indulge themselves with art therapy  by taking up art lessons, and regularly mount exhibits to help raise funds for the hospital’s various charities.

Motivated by gratitude for the talents each of these artists are blessed with, all are one in agreeing to share the fruits of their endeavors with less privileged but deserving groups. For this exhibition, the beneficiary is Chosen Children Village in Silang, Cavite.

The Chosen Children Village is a facility, or more like a community, that cares for abandoned special children and young adults who are physically and mentally challenged. For more than a year prior to the pandemic, the Sabado Group regularly visited the CCV to teach art to at least a dozen children, and help them create art pieces that are displayed in the classrooms and halls. Each visit was a fulfilling experience for both the Sabado Group, and particularly for the kids, who savor the moment they are able to create an artwork, in spite of their physical and mental challenges.

“Due to the pandemic, the CCV now gets less support to fund basic needs such as food, staff salaries, diapers, medicines and for upkeep of the place. Hopefully, whatever we raise from the sale of artworks in the exhibit will augment the dwindling resources of the CCV,” says Maryrose Gisbert, one of the artists.

ARTablado ART♀titude exhibit will run until November 16.
