The Bonifacio High Street Central’s Urban Amphitheater was sizzling when Speedo presented its bold 2012 Spring/Summer Collection in a spectacular fashion show, dahlings.
Moi and the invitees couldn’t get enough of the awesome and lavish spread of swimwear and accessories consisting of the Play & Fun, Health and Wellbeing, Swim Fitness and Competitive lines of Speedo.
The several lines were presented by top Filipino and international models who sashayed on the ramp to the delight of the audience, palanggas. One woman pointed to one of the hunks and said, “I don’t mind having him as my personal lifeguard and body guard.”
Moi agreed, palanggas.
The Play & Fun collection targets leisure swimmers and beach sports aficionados.
Another eye-catcher was the Swim Fitness collection, which is aimed at those who swim regularly to keep fit. It came in a variety of colors and is manufactured using hard-wearing 100-percent chlorine-resistant Speedo Endurance+ fabric.

Later, the UP Pep Squad performed, along with namedroppable athletes and swimmers,
Wow, with all those hot gorgeous bodies on and off the ramp, it was time to cool off the Speedo way by taking a refreshing dip in the swimming pool or the beach, ’di bala, dahlings?

Birthday with pals
It looks like it would never end, so moi politely told friends who would like to tender me get-togethers on my special day that moi was cutting down to two more après my real birthday.
The first that got the ball rolling to welcome a new year of my life was the one hosted by popular restaurateur Bubot Quicho at Le Regalade, right before he closed it to transfer to another location in Makati, dahlings.
It was called an “after-dinner heavy bar chow” affair during which the talented Luis de Terry presented his finger-food aperitif of Paté en Croute, Tuna Tartare on crispy wanton, Hendrix-cured Salmon Gravlax.
But friends who heard about it sent over their contributions. Malou Gamboa of Cirkulo sent her renowned mushroom vegetarian paella. Marilou Senn of La Tasca sent her all-time favorite spinach ravioli, and my pal Millie Reyes of The Plaza sent her renowned leg of glazed honey ham and baked turkey.
It was a great fun night with close pals. There was endless flow of champagne, wines and booze, a perfect thanksgiving for another year of happiness and good health.
Next was the intimate dinner for moi hosted by two great pals, Kaye Tinga and Mons Romulo, no less, held at the latest, “chic place” in town—W17.
Flowers gorgeously arranged by Mabolo and candlelights adorned the table. Joining us were Kaye’s hubby, well-respected Taguig Rep. Freddie Tinga; Sen. Bongbong Marcos and Liza Araneta Marcos; Ruffa Gutierrez and Cristalle Belo (fresh from their European trip); vivacious Maricris and her son Andy Vasquez Prada of W17; doctors Z and Aivee Teo; Rustan’s Rhoda Aldanese and Arnold Vegafria, plus others like them, palanggas.
Katrina Ponce Enrile’s in-demand restaurant Petra and Pilar prepared an excellent Filipino-theme dinner for this extra-special occasion.
Yes, palanggas, it was a super memorable evening for me, thanks to great friends, Kaye T. and Mons R.
Shopwise Cubao
Shopwise, where you find great-value goods for your hard-earned cash, launched its newly revamped Araneta Center branch in Cubao, dahlings.
Leading the launch were Araneta Group CEO Jorge Araneta and Rustan’s Supercenters Inc. president Donnie Tantoco, palanggas.
Moi checked the place out and found my own favorite spot in a new food area with kiosks that included a salad medley station, a Mongolian stir-fry counter, a sushi and sashimi bar, an excellent deli with a well-priced range of European cold cuts and cheeses, and a 1950s-style soda fountain with, would you believe, an authentic jukebox.
We were all treated to a delicious lunch buffet, while being serenaded with impressive performances by singers Kevin Cisco and Isabella Gonzalez. Now, that was a launch with real pleasure, dahlings, ’di bala!
“It was in 2004 when we first inaugurated the store,” Tantoco said. “For the last seven years, Shopwise Araneta has been one of the top hypermarkets.”
“This time, keeping in mind the modern shopper’s need for a complete one-stop experience,” Donnie added, “we decided to create a new vision for the hypermarket that would be translated into dynamic concepts with ever-changing needs that cater to today’s marked standard.”
Once the formal launch was over, the doors swung open to welcome shoppers who dashed in like bees to the honeycomb, palanggas.
