The recently concluded year-end Flea Market at Palacio de Memoria was another smashing success. With more shop merchants and families in attendance, following the IATF’s Alert Level 2 declaration over Metro Manila last November 5, the event showcased true holiday vibes and the fun, enriching spirit of European street culture.
On its opening day on November 6, event operations were extended until 6:00 PM as the number of Flea market guests reached more than 130. Galleria de Gunita was also well attended by more than 160 guests, who all came for a delightful picnic experience, complete with wide choices of offerings of food baskets and grazing boxes from Apéritif Manille, Run Rabbit Run, Cocktail Bar Manila and The Loggia. Music by Local Sun, Bins, and Emel Rowe also filled the afternoon with a relaxing weekend vibe at the Palacio’s sprawling gardens. Meanwhile, on November 7, European culture enthusiasts were treated to leisurely sessions of cocktail mixing courtesy of the Open Bar by Don Papa Rum, and cigar carving and rolling at the Cigar Bar by Tabacalera Incorporada.
The event’s Art, Antiques, and Retail Fair also attracted more visitors as it featured a wider, more dynamic mix of merchants including Travelfund, Mark Bumgarner, Sassa Jimenez, Store One, ZOE, Etniko Pilipino, PhilHHDA, Vidro, Fiori di Marghi, Rue Angelique, Casa Mercedes, Rafikimono, Betina, RHM, Kassa, Brando Arts & Antiques, Fren, and SENSASI. Pet care brand Presidential Paws was also added to the roster this time to cater to the many furry friends that also graced the weekend event together with their families.
Sponsored by Smart Infinity, the two-day event held at the mansion grounds in Parañaque City provided a safe and relaxing community environment for guests as organizers observed strict health protocol such as checking of proof of vaccination, checking of temperature, and social distancing within the venue.
For those who missed the event, Galleria de Gunita will return in December 2021, while the Flea Market is set to mount its fifth run in January 2022. Palacio de Memoria is open throughout the holiday season for guests looking for a quick cultural trip within the Metro.
