Hafthor Bjornsson, more known as The Mountain Clegane from “Game of Thrones.” broke the world deadlift record after lifting 501 kilograms (1,104 pounds) on May 3, Sunday at the Thor’s Power Gym in Iceland.

Bjornsson, who also won the world’s strongest man competition in 2018, broke the 500-kilogram record of British Eddie Hall in 2016. The 31-year-old Icelandic “Game of Thrones” actor lifted the heaviest barbell that was bending and straining under the weights for two seconds before letting go and screaming in delight.

“I believe today I could’ve done more, but what’s the point?” Bjornsson said. “I’m happy with this. My family and friends, they were happy with this, and I’ve decided to call it.”

Bjornsson has been sharing his training regimen for the past three months on his YouTube channel. He also topped the 2020 Arnold Pros Strongman competition in March, earning $72,000 for his feat.
