‘Dark Knight’ creator hits Manila for book signing and talks

Canadian-born graphic novel artist and writer David Finch finally arrives in Manila this March 17-18, 2012 for a series of book signings for his fans. After a last-minute postponement in the events set for last weekend, the artist famous for his “Batman: The Dark Knight” reinvention pushes through with his visits to Fully Booked branches this Saturday and Sunday.

On both days, Finch will be signing copies of graphic novels and comic singles he has contributed to in Fully Booked Bonifacio High Street. Before each signing, he will also be hosting a talk for students and interested professionals about his artistic process. The talks will start at 3 p.m. on both Saturday, March 17 and Sunday, March 18, while the book signings immediately follow at 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required for both events.

David Finch will also be judging a Batman art contest and inviting the winner to lunch on Sunday, March 18.

Now  a permanent fixture in DC Comics, David Finch has previously worked on Marvel’s “The New Avengers,” “Ultimate X-Men,” and “Moon Knight,” and is also credited for contributing to the concept art for the film adaptation of Alan Moore’s “Watchmen.”  His latest, “The Dark Knight Volume 1: The Golden Dawn,” is a graphic novel he both wrote and drew for.
