Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) recently launched the Hospital on Wheels, their newest healthcare innovation and brand-new expansion to their mobile clinic program, last December 7, 2021, at the hospital’s Steel Parking 1.

CSMC Hospital on Wheels — The CSMC Hospital On Wheels is all set to bring quality healthcare to its patients.

The Hospital on Wheels is a 32-foot mobile clinic, fully equipped for an array of hospital services, such as doctors’ consultations, laboratory examinations, and specialized tests like ECG, ultrasound, and x-ray. The initiative was borne of CSMC’s thrust to improve the delivery of safe and reliable service and to provide continuity of care to patients.

CSMC President and CEO Raul C. Pagdanganan was joined by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Atty. Benjamin “Benhur” C. Abalos, Jr. and CSMC Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Zenaida Javier-Uy, in kicking off the launch with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and a short program at the Philippine Center for Advanced Surgery auditorium.

Most Reverend Teodoro C. Bacani, Jr., lead the blessing ceremony of Hospital On Wheels attended by CSMC President & CEO, Mr. Raul C. Pagdanganan along with other Catholic priests.

“I have seen the growth of this hospital under the new management and I am really proud of what we have accomplished and what we are celebrating,” Javier-Uy said in her opening remarks. “This morning is testament of the desire of this hospital to reach as many patients as possible, to serve as many patients who need medical care, through our Hospital on Wheels.”

Chairman Abalos praised the hospital for its efforts, stressing that the program is the best way the private sector can help the government in fighting the pandemic’s effects.

“We have to be flexible in our policies, we have to learn from the past to improve,” Abalos noted. “This is [the kind of effort] we [have to] encourage. What [CSMC] is doing here is not only saving lives but improving the quality of life for everyone.”

The program was concluded by Pagdanganan, who emphasized that the project was conceptualized first and foremost for their patients’ benefit and convenience.

“Our Hospital on Wheels…[takes] curative preventive and promotive healthcare to the doorsteps of our patients,” Pagdanganan said. “We are proud to say it is truly an innovative, patient-centered way of delivering primary health services to the communities we serve.”

Last December 10, 2021, the blessing of the Hospital On Wheels was led by Most Reverend Teodoro C. Bacani Jr. The Hospital On Wheels dedicated its first service to the elderly priests of the Bahay Pari in Makati City.
