Andi Abaya learns to trust herself in ‘Saying Goodbye’

If there’s one thing newcomer actress Andi Abaya learned while doing the show “Saying Goodbye,” a new collaboration between ABS-CBN and iQiyi, it is believing in herself.

“What I’ve learned po is magtiwala sa sarili (trust yourself). Believe in yourself and most especially nakikita mo talaga kung paano ka maging (you will really see how you will be) grateful knowing that this is such a big project and kami ‘yung pinagkatiwalaan ng (we were trusted by the) management. If they trust in us, we should trust in ourselves as well,” she said when asked what her learnings were, during the TV series’ online press conference, Dec. 20.

Abaya considers working on the project as an opportunity to learn from fellow actors and actresses, who she sees as greats ones, along with “the great production, the great director.” She is also grateful for the fact that the network saw potential in her, which is something that inspires her to do even better.

“It really pushes us to work really hard and to prove to them na hindi sila nagkamali na kami ‘yung pinili nilang (that they were not wrong for choosing us as) artists for the projects [of] ABS-CBN,” she said.

Abaya plays Joni, the best friend of Andrea Brillantes’ character in the series. JB
